With the lower ground floor slab installed and phase two steel installation complete, the scaffold can now be erected.

Since Monday, Bricklayers Carl and Robbin have been building the brickwork for the new second floor extension using reclaimed London stock bricks.

One elevation of new brickwork must be layed ‘overhand’ because the neighbouring cvonseratory made it imposible to erect scaffold. As the term suggests, this is where the bricklayer must lean over his work and point each brick as it’s laid. There are no second chances!
