This drab 1960s office building on Queensway was sensitively refurbished to become a cool and contemporary learning environment.

Existing hardwood parquet floors were painstakingly repaired and refinished. The original Terrazzo staircase, which had been buried under carpet for decades, was also returned to its former glory. A significant portion of the budget was spent on the aluminum windows which dramatically improved the thermal and acoustic performance of the building.

Work was phased over 35 weeks to allow the language college to operate continuously. This 9000 sq ft project was delivered for a keen £450k…that’s just £50/sq ft!
