Kensington Townhouse

This four storey townhouse has undergone a radical transformation with many complex and challenging elements.

Having been empty for 2 years, the long awaited refurbishment and extension qualified for reduced rate VAT of 5%.

Acumen as main contractor acted like a ‘one-stop-shop’ so that goods and services that could correctly attract the reduced rate of VAT were procured by Acumen and recharged to the client at the reduced rate.

The work comprised a new second floor rear extension, excavation of the existing basement and re-development of the roof terrace.

With substantial joinery and specialist elements, the Kensington project was the flagship project for Acumen during its yearlong programme.

Although much of the original scheme was re-worked to suit the clients requirements, Acumen sought to accommodate the various changes whilst maintaining an agreed programme.
